Bono and PM check out "Like a Child"
|
"Like a Child" was written by Glenn Marais/Pete Swann as a companion song to Paige Peddlars' book "Who Will Cuddle Them When They Sleep". Proceeds from the book and the CD will go to "Cuddle the Orphans Foundation" to help the AIDS epidemic in Africa. Prime Minister Paul Martin and U2's Bono where given copies of the CD in Toronto during a meeting with Paige. (see Toronto Star Article 05-14-2004)

Ruth Girls sing anthem for NBA game
|
Ruth Girls sang in Indiana for the conference semi-final game between the Pacers and the Miami Heat. The girls sang live in front of 35,000 people plus a TV audience on TNT Network. No lip-syncing! Ruth Girls have also sung the US anthem for the New York.Mets and the Kansas City Royals.

Ruth
Girls Name Change
|
The
Ruth Girls are officially changing their name to "The Ruth" after considering
several other possibilities including "Not the Spice Girls", "Sarah Tonin
& the Neurotransmitters" & "Ruth 66". "The Ruths" was discussed
over a recent lunch meeting, but turned out to be too hard to pronounce
while eating. The original name just happened when the girls started singing
together. 3 young sisters from the Ruth family became known locally as
The Ruth Girls - figures. 10 years later, the girls find themselves another
year older (hey it's the music biz) and have outgrown the name. What does
"The Ruth" mean? Collins Dictionary defines Ruth as: ruth

Just wanted to let you all know that I'm giving a showcase at the Haleconian Club (a very well known place where classical artists give concerts and shows.. I figure it's somewhat appropriate!).... By the way, it's beautiful..(and the artwork is awesome too!...
